Choose an organization that is facing Organization Behavior (OB) challenges/issues (It can be your current organization or any other organization that you know very well). Write an introduction about the industry and briefly describe the company’s background in one or two pages.
Describe the company’s situation that is facing any of the following OB challenges:
i. Responding to economic pressure
ii. Responding to globalization
iii. Managing workforce diversity
iv. Improving customer service
v. Working in networked organizations
vi. Employee well-being at work
vii. Creating a positive work environment …etc.
1. Phase One: Entering And Contracting
Consider yourself as an Organizational Development consultant. Explain the entering and contracting process. How did you know the company? Who assigned you as a consultant? What was the entering process until you signed the consultancy contract?
As an OD consultant, you need to initially clarify the organizational issue (in general), the problem and symptoms and determining the relevant client/ respondent.
Design and provide your OD contract/proposal with all the required information according to what you have learned in the class.
2. Phase Two: Diagnosis
Explain what kind of information do you need to diagnose the problem? How do you collect the information?
You are to analyze the challenges/issues and discover their effects and consequences in the organization at three levels:
(2) Group or department, and
You are to use Organization Development (OD) Model to diagnose the problem at each level.
3. Phase Three: Planning And Implementing Change
Design interventions and action plans to be implemented.
The interventions or initiatives that you suggest, belong to which level of analysis? Organization, group or individual?
Assess the readiness of your organization towards the interventions based on the following criteria:
1) Organizational culture,
2) Power and Politics,
3) People skills and abilities.
Explain how do you manage the change effectively at this stage?
5. Phase Four: Evaluating and Institutionalizing Change
a.Propose suitable tools and instruments to measure the effectiveness of the interventions.
b.Explain the institutionalization process to create a culture of change in the organization.
c.Conduct arguments and discussions to show how you overcome resistance to change in order to improve the organization’s functions.
d.Decide whether the change should be continued, modified or suspended
