Task:

Your task is to design and develop a Learning Program that is based either on competency standards or other performance measures relevant to your organisation.

You will initially be given 3 opportunities to submit for formal review, within your period of tuition. Where 3 opportunities are not sufficient, your nominated Trainer may negotiate an alternative way for you to submit evidence to enable your competence to be assessed.

Outcomes

The candidate provided the following:

Background information about the learning program
Learning Program Plan including outline and agenda
Review and Evaluation including evidence of communicating with others throughout the review and implementing any changes within the draft learning program.
Competency matrix to show which sessions cover which learning outcomes/competency benchmarks
Answers to questions about the learning programs.

Step 1 –  Background information about the learning program

Did the candidate:

Provide information about the client organisation and the target learner group.
Outline the overall aim of the training and issues that led to the decision to develop the Learning Program.
Document the pre-requisite entry requirements and access to applicable licensing requirements or VET policies and Frameworks if needed to determine the scope of the program
(if applicable) Outline any other information that your assessor will need to understand the context of the program.
Step 2a –  Learning Program Plan
Is the plan a workplace document and does it:

Reflect the relevant learning and assessment strategy (where applicable)
Allow for contextualisation and client-focus (i.e. reflects the context and needs of the target learners, including LL&N needs)
Reflect the dimensions of competence (i.e. include content that will effectively prepare learners to complete tasks being trained in realistic working conditions)
Reflect a safe learning progression.

Established the profile of the target learner group and determined their training/learning needs           
Obtained other information about the program as relevant (e.g. budget; timeframes; other requirements)           
Provided authentic evidence of communication with the supervisors/ peers and explanations of how the candidate worked with this supervisors/peers to design and develop the learning program           
Reviewed and finalised the learning program plan and with whom.      
     
Step 3 – Competency Matrix           

Did the candidate:

Develop a competency matrix that shows the link between the program content and the competency standards/ learning outcomes addressed       
   
Step 4 – Questions about the learning program       
   
Did the candidate:

Identify or implement the AQF suggested time frames to deliver this program             
Identify actual time allocated to deliver the training           
Justify the length of the program if it falls short of AQF recommendations           
List steps taken to determine program parameters, then design, develop and review the program content and structure.
