Why is Apologetics helpful in the discipline and pastoring of Christians?4. Coming back to training Christians to do Apologetics, provide some guidelineson understanding and doing Apologetics with a post-modern person.

The following biblical cases prove doing apologetics-

First and foremost is to be commanded to defend faith. Peter 3:15says, “but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defence to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence (Slick 2010).”
Apologetics help Christians I in identifying their faith as it is well know that these qualities are missing in the believers. Believers are unaware even when itcomes to describing Trinity, two natures of the Christ, Christ’s physical resurrection, or making out the difference between justification and sanctification. Hence, apologetics guide in defining and defending the reality about gospel. (Slick 2010)
Apologetics can help in tackling the negative image of Christianity that has been put forward by media and culture.The churches don’t help priests with their involvement in scandals. All sort of scandals bring negativity to Christianity and it has been witnessed that media often promotes negative opinion about this religion.
Apologetics provide an opportunity to keep people out of hell. Everybody needs to realizethat god is real and helps us through our deeds. One needs to defend Christianityand gospel (Coulter n.d.).
Apologetics can help in mending up the threat of apostasy in the church. This openly does justice to homosexuals, gay and lesbians.

4. There is a huge difference between today and a few years back. In the past people were optimistic about their religion and people didn’t trouble to practice their religion. The belief and faith in god is actually going down (Mohler n.d.). In the past it was quite evident that churches were in a decline but the society was still Christian on a nominal level. On doing Apologetics with a past-modern person one shall highlight all the beneficial aspects of doing apologetics. Apologetics can help in planting a seed of Christianity in the individual (McCallu 2015). There wasn’t a wholesale about the concepts of God but it can be learntand believed with the help of Bible. Inoculation also helps an individual in understanding and utilising the importance of Apologetics. It is all about providing a person with truth and the benefits related to the religion which in turn willbroadenthe vision and horizon of a person regarding the religion. It will involve debate on various topics like existence of god and various other facts but would ultimately yield positive result regarding religion (Bobby 2013).
