SL617 Funding for Sport
Sport England Small Grants have been an important source of funding for many clubs and sport organisations, and although currently amended (Return to Play – Small Grants) to meet needs under COVID restrictions, Small Grants are likely to return in their previous form, or very similar, post pandemic. This assignment will require you to refer to the following two key documents from the original Small Grants application process (Both on Blackboard, under module materials) to undertake this assignment:

Select a sports club or organisation of your choice and help it to complete the Small Grants application successfully for a project that it would like to start or expand. You must ensure that the organisation and project satisfies the requirements for a small grant, and then prepare and submit responses to the following sections of the Small Grants Application Form (pages 7 – 9):
-Your Project description (up to100 words)
-Why is Your Project needed (up to 500 words)
-What difference will your project make (up to 500 words)
-How will you make it happen (up to 500 words)
-What will happen after the project ends (up to 500 words)
Note: Do not use the Sport England Small Grant application form for your submission, but instead assemble your responses to the above sections and submit as you would an essay or report assignment onto Blackboard.

This is based on the requirements for a Sport England Small Grants Application and the word limits for each section set by them. Please note that the limits for each section are maximum words and successful bids require clear and concise wording.

Your work will be assessed on the extent to which it demonstrates your achievement of the stated learning outcome for this assignment (see above) and against other key criteria as defined by your programme team.
This assignment will be marked according to the grading descriptors for Level 6
This assignment should be submitted electronically. Please use the relevant Turnitin submission point in the Submit Your Work area in LSST Connect.
You can submit your work as many times as you like before the submission date. If you do submit your work more than once, your earlier submission will be replaced by the most recent version.
Once you have submitted your work, you will receive a digital receipt as proof of submission, which will be sent to your forwarded e-mail address (provided you have set this up). Please keep this receipt for future reference, along with the original electronic copy of your assignment.

Submission date and time
This assignment should be submitted before 14:00h UK time on submission date .
Work that is submitted up to 10 working days beyond the submission date will be accepted as a late submission. Late submissions will be marked and the actual mark recorded, but will be capped at the pass mark (typically 40%), provided that the work is of a passing standard. Work submitted after this period will not be marked and will be treated as a non-submission.
