Answered
Self-leadership and self-reflection are critical to your success as a leader. Every individual at some point in their career will be asked to lead; whether it is a small project or an entire organization. Your ability to understand and reflect on your capabilities as a leader is important to your success. During this course you will have the opportunity to explore leadership theory, practice leadership skills, and reflect upon your learning. The self-assessment journal activities are designed to give you a better understanding of your strengths and areas of development as a leader. It will also help prepare you for the team activities in this class where you will be in charge of leading your team. To complete this assessment, you will be assigned activities from modules one through four which require you to complete self-assessments from your textbook and/or online. Your self-assessments will be included as an appendix in the journal. You are encouraged to share your results with your team members in order to become more effective as a team. After completing the four assessments you will need to reflect upon the results of these four assessments as you answer the following questions in your journal: 1. What information did I learn from this self-assessment? Was this information familiar to me or was it new information? 2. What does this information tell me about my leadership abilities? Strengths and weaknesses? 3. How can I use this information moving forward? The next step is to turn those reflections into insight and identify goals and future plans for development and/or change based on the assessment results. In addition to the information from your text, you are required to use one Academic Journal which either supports or refutes your results of the assessments. Pick the aspect that interests you the most so that the research will be most applicable to you personally.
