How did the UAE Avoid the Arab Spring?
 
The Tunisian demonstrations sparked a wave of major protests against the autocratic regimes of several other Middle Eastern countries,including  Egypt, Algeria, Yemen,Syria, and Libya.
 
However not all  undemocratic Arab countries were affected by the Arab Spring.
 
Saudi Arabia, Oman,and Palestine only experienced minor protests, while the UAE escaped essentially unscathed.
 
How was the monarchial government of the UAE able to avoid the powerful  tide of the Arab Spring and continue ruling?
 
The answers rests with a few contributing factor that gave the UAE regime some crucial advantages.
 
It seems that this statistic could be a factor in why the UAE and Qatar were able to escape the Arab Spring.
 
Simply put, these two countries were able to employ the individuals who put in the time to get an  education, while the other countries failed to reward these individuals,prompting them to resort to political activism.
