Introduction:
The industry of the music is not only about the entertainment purpose. There are various types of incidents and various types persons related with it. To describe the music industry better four journal articles are selected here. All of the selected articles approached the music industry in a different way. After reading all of this article journal the reader will know the different aspects of the music industry.
Wikström, P. (2013). The music industry: Music in the cloud. Polity.
In this article, the author has described the megastar of the music industry who is the Trent Reznor. The author has discussed the album of the newly released song album of the Trent Reznor which are the Ghosts I-IV. After launching the Ghosts, I-IV Trent Reznor formed a band How to Destroy Angels (Wikström, 2013). The main aim of the author for describing these music albums is, and the band is to elaborate the importance of the cloud technology in the music industry field. The author has applied this concept to elaborate how the industry of the music changes its base for a physical disk to the virtual cloud. Also, the author wanted to give an overview of how this music industry transformation has been done by providing the example of Ghosts I-IV. The author of this article has described the differences between the old music economy and the new music economy. The author stated that in the past music economy there was a low level of connection among the music companies and the listeners of the music, but there was a strong connectivity among the music firms and audiences. In the case of the new music economy, the author has stated that the distribution of the physical music has been drastically reduced. This new economy has reduced the barriers regarding the distribution of the music among the audience (Wikström, 2013). The evaluation of the whole article defines that this is an article about the music industry related to the cloud computing. The author argued that the industry of the music is categorised by low regulation and high connection and the music is delivered as a facility in this case. Lastly, the author discussed the future of this new trends and how this new trends will impact the future music industry.

In this article, the author has addressed the newly developed concept which is related with the musical creativities, contemporary and collaboration of the musical authorship. In the article, the author has developed some question on the basis of what is a paramusical creativity. According to the author involvement of the paramusical creativity lead the music artist to respond to the wider circumstances. Also, in the case of paramusical creativity, the music artist get affected by economic factors, technological developments and by the trends of broader culture (Hughes et al., 2016). From the side of the author, the music type which was released to the audiences is now changed. The author stated that the music artists now less focused on producing an album of songs professionally. Instead of focusing on that, the music artists focused on the song level and in below level from that (Hughes et al., 2016). By focusing on the low-level factor, the music artist is able to release improvised acoustic of recordings. Also, the live performance of the songs can be delivered. In chapter two of this article, the author has discussed the economic changes in the music industry which forced the artists to the focus on the other source of the income. The author has also described that it is a necessity for the artists to engage themselves with a different type of media platforms which will help them actively communicate with their corresponding audiences.
Leonard, M. (2017). Gender in the music industry: Rock, discourse and girl power. Routledge.
In this article, the author has discussed the rock music, gender and about the music industry. The analysis from the past cases showed that the rock music is often performed and created by the men in the music industry. Here the main concern of the author is that how the female rock music performer performs in this cases with maintaining the performed rock as masculine (Leonard, 2017). The concern of the author is not only limited within the above statement, but the author also discussed how these categories of gender could affect the whole music industry regarding the daily experiences of the rock musicians. In this article, it is stated that how the gender is produced in this cases and maintained by the some of the groups in the industry of the music. Throughout this article, the author discussed a broad definition of the music industry. This article has evaluated the artistic relationship between the professionals of the music industry and also evaluated the financial and managerial decision which are influenced by the gender concept (Leonard, 2017). The author used a case study in this article to address the answers to the core question about the gender which was the ‘indie-rock.’ The ‘indie-rock’ case study has given the author to discuss the music, discursive practices and performance in-depth in this article.
Frenette, A. (2013). Making the intern economy: Role and career challenges of the music industry intern. Work and Occupations, 40(4), 364-397.
This article discusses the intern labour of the music industry who are unpaid. In this discussion, the author wanted to examine how these unpaid internships are creating challenges for the new peoples in the in the music industry. For this, the author conducts interviews and form the conducted interviews the author found that to maintain the economy of the intern the ambiguity has a big role (Frenette, 2013). In this article, the author has stated the main findings of him. According to the author, the internship is a great attempt for the fresher to achieve the access in the professional business field of the music industry but most of them failed to secure the employment which is paid in the music industry. The author stated that the ambiguity could help the intern to host the companies as they are capable of doing mundane work to professional works with the various level of work. In the case of the economy of the intern, the author has stated that this economy has inequality and consequences. The internships can provide a great opportunity to the freshers to launch their professional carriers in the music industry (Frenette, 2013), but in this article, the author showed that how this unpaid type of internships is far behind from leading the interns to a permanent job in the music industry.
Conclusion:
From the above discussion it can be concluded that the music industry is not only about the music or the entertainment. There are many other things related with the music. In the first discussed article the old economy and the new economy of the music is compared and how the new economy of the music is shifted to cloud based storage is discussed. The second article is about how in the new way the music artists directly approaching to its audience. The third article discuss about the gender equality in the case of rock music and the last article elaborated about the unpaid labours in the music industry. In this way the four aspects of the music industry is discussed.
