Introduction
Cloud based services have brought in a great boon for small and medium scale enterprises which cannot afford to invest in their own network equipment. Modern cloud based technology is letting such businesses avail the facilities of networking without owning expensive apparatuses. It allows businesses to run multiple operating systems in a single device through private clouds and also add in to the internal infrastructure without incurring huge costs.
Aspects of situation
Cloud, being a scalable technology, both corporations and individuals can put it to use seamlessly (Ali, Khan & Vasilakos, 2015). Many brands have emerged that allow businesses to make private clouds. However, this facility being a little expensive, small company cannot subscribe to its services. They can rather use customizable cloud computing in data centres as a more secure and cost-effective alternative to private clouds (Rittinghouse & Ransome, 2016).
Data centers are in fact more convenient for businesses that are seasonal in nature. In case of high demand, the company can scale up to high-performing servers and conversely they can scale down at the time demand is low.
Cloud computing also does away with the barriers posed by distance. It can let employees access the database remotely and this helps in providing more flexibility to the employees. Moreover, it also removes the need of a separate office space because employees would no longer need to come to the office on a daily basis in order to work.
Conclusion
However, it must also be understood that cloud computing is useful for only certain kinds of businesses. All enterprises cannot benefit equally from this technology. However, it also depends upon the management to appropriate the facilities in ways that shall be suitable for the needs of the organization.
