Answer:
Six sigma
According to the researchers the six sigma can be defined as the technique that is used in order to improve a business by reducing the probability of any error or defect occurring. The researchers have explained the relationship between the critical success factors and the six sigma in projects performance. According to the researchers the process of the six sigma plays a vital role in controlling a project management (McFadden, Stock & Gowen, 2015). The paper well explains the concept of the six sigma in this paper. In the introduction part the researchers explains the concepts of the process of adoption of the six sigma processes. Further in the literature review the researchers reviews some of the major articles that explains the concept of the six sigma. Further the researchers explains about the facts about how the use of the six sigma can help in the process of enhancing the quality of the business. One of the other major thing that is well explained in the project is that how the six sigma process can enhances the transportation business. Further the researchers explains about the advantages and the disadvantages of the process. Later the researchers have well explained the concept of risks that are associated with the use of the six sigma processes. The major benefits of the six sigma are well explained in the paper. The researchers explains about the IRP model development in the later stages and how these can help in the process of proper administration and services. Thus it can be said that with the use of the six sigma process performance of the project can be enhanced.
Continuous Improvement
The continuous improvement process which is commonly known as the continual improvement process can be explained as an ongoing effort that is done in order to enhance a certain project. The use of the CIP is one of the major thing that is done in process of the project management. In this paper the authors explains the CIP as the Meta process of the management systems. The use of the CIP helps in the process of enhancing the particular human being. According to researchers, Kaizen explains CIP in three processes (Caiado et al., 2018. Popular CQI techniques used in health care include statistical process control; plan, do, check, and act; and competitive benchmarking.
Features: The major principal of the CIP is the reflection of knowledge.
Efficiency: The purpose of the CIP is to identify the major area, reduce the risks related to it.
Evolution: Identifying the risk , evolution of the continual steps rather than giant steps taken
These are the major points explained by Kezner according to the researchers. The researchers have divided the paper in 4 segments, namely the background of the study, the purpose of the research, methodology used, the results or the findings of the paper and the practical implications of the paper (Kerzner & Kerzner, 2017). The purpose of the paper is to present a proper model that shows that how the process of transformation leadership helps in the process of the continuous quality improvement. The author have chosen the medical industry in order to provide better results for the process of explaining the theory. According to the researchers the use of the CQI has one of the major implementation in the field of the medical industry. The CQI uses many of the statistical tools in order to analyse the processes of self-improvement. According to the researchers many of the Scholars argue that in order to achieve the major benefits of the CQI implementing
The researchers have chosen the medical industry because of the fact that it is one best sector where the process of continuous improvement. The major findings that results were that the process of the CQI effective way to enhance the process of stabilization in hotel industry. The overall pattern of findings suggests that simultaneous implementation of CQI initiatives and patient safety climate produces greater combined benefits.
Discussion and Analysis:
The project of the Changi airport system is one of the major project that have been developed in the past few years. The project can help the Singapore in various ways. These project was created in order to enhance the process of the public transport. The major objectives of the project were:
Increase in the share of the public transport: This would helping the process of curbing the increase number of the cars in the city.
Stimulate sustainable, urban re-development along the corridor: The North Bourne Avenue Corridor is ear-marked for significant growth via re-development (Heagney, 2016). Increase social and economic participation: The service will provide greater opportunities for non-motor vehicle owning people to access jobs, education, health services and other social activities.
Therefore it can be said that this project is one of the major project that have been planned in the Singapore (Mir & Pinnington, 2014). This will not only help in the process ensuring proper development for the people of the city but also to thee people coming from the outside of city.
Although the project had been one of the greatest project yet there were some of the major limitations in the project, before starting it in the full phase.
Limitation: Although the project is one of the most planned project in the Singapore. Yet there are some major limitation of the project. The most important limitation was that during the construction it the environment would be badly harmed (yang et al., 2016). Acquiring the land where the project is to be done was also one of the other major limitation (chao et al., 2017). Further major questions were raised on the fact that how the rail project will be sustainable in the long term (Binder, 2016). Further, the new system had no connection with the systems. Hence what would happen to the existing railway systems was a major concern. Some of the other major concerns that were to ensure were
Time to market;
Flexibility;
Price certainty;
Risk: Risk can be explained as a situation involving introduction to danger. In this project there were a number of risk factors that would hamper the proper working of the project. These were:
Associated Development: Risk of land development that were associated with airport.
Capability: The first major risk was of not having necessary experience and capability to deliver and operate an airport network (moosa et al., 2015).
Commissioning and start of service: Risk of late delivery and commencement of project operations related to not successfully testing and commissioning
Cost: Risk of exceeding budgeted contingency resulting from unforeseen costs, or cost overrun during delivery (Lock, 2017). This risk is considered as well as a market risk resulting from potentially different views from bidders with respect to the project’s budget and its relevance to the contemplated scope
Market: This was one of the other major risk, that tis enough bidders will not come up in order to take the project. This was due to the fact that of infrastructural issues related to it (Martin et al., 2017).
Performance: Risk of needing additional runway to meet an increased level of service.
Planning Approvals: This was one of the other major area for risk, approval of the plan from the government was to be done in very serious manner.
Safety: Overall safety risks of passengers and workers during construction, along with the risk.
Site conditions: The risk of dealing with unexpected environmental issues, including contamination, heritage site, geotechnical conditions and risk of flooding.
Technology: Risk of using obsolete or unproven technology that will hamper efficient operations and/or future extension plans.
What was done?
In order to deal with the risks in a proper manner, some of the major steps were to be undertaken. The first thing that was done was to ensure that the proposal of the project is passed by the government (Lock, 2017). Once the project was passed by the government, it was the time for the attracting the potential investors and bidders who can work of the project. In order to ensure this a meeting were held it ensured that the project was made understood to the majority of the stakeholders (Bok, 2015). Further in order to curb with other risks proper steps were taken to ensure proper (Lee et al., 2014). Further the proper data were gathered in order to eliminate or reduce the risk to the lowest point.
Improvement statistics: In order to improve the project a lot other things were taken into consideration (Varun, 2015). Studies were made on various points that would help in the process to ensure that the working of the project is prosed in a proper manner.
(Figure 1: Cost estimation)
(Source: (Hall, 2014)
The cost to risk benefits is one of the major graph that was considered before the beginning of the project. Also some of the major researches were done of the fact that how the stops would affect the public. Further the researchers explains about the advantages and the disadvantages of the process (Setiawan et al., 2018). Later the researchers have well explained the concept of risks that are associated with the use of the six sigma processes. . The purpose of the paper is to present a proper model that shows that how the process of transformation leadership helps in the process of the continuous quality improvement. Various project management processes were tested in order to select the best project method (chen et al., 2017). The developers claimed that for this process waterfall methodology was the best for the process of development of the project.
Conclusion
Thus concluding the topic it can be said airport project of Changi is one of the major project that have been initiated in Singapore. Further with the use of the, the ongoing rise in the car and road transport will decline. Hence, it will reduce the cost of the transport and help in reducing carbon level form the air. The route that is selected for the project covers all the major area in the city and the nearby cities. The major concern for ACT is to ensure that all the project is completed in the given duration of time.The project ensures that all the major cities are connected to Changi through the system, this will help the government to reduce the increasing number of the cars and road transport. Also it will ensure that the smaller towns that are connected using the rail system gets proper commute. The cost of the project is very much high and therefore needs to worked on in an effective manner. In order to deliver the project on time the developed has to ensure that all the nessacery risk are reduced. The provision of public transport infrastructure, such as airport, improves transport accessibility for persons based within reasonable proximity of the transport system. Improved accessibility has a value to individuals and firms in several ways, including in cost and time savings. Proper decisions are to be made in order to ensure that project is completed on time.
Recommendation
One of the major thing that is recommended is to ensure the number of the beneficiaries:
• Property possessors in the area of the infrastructure;
• Consumers of public transport;
• Other transport users who benefit from reduced congestion;
• Terrestrial developers;
• Viable operators
• The overall public.
Other than this, it is recommended to ensure and list all the stakeholders in a proper manner.
The list of the stakeholders in priority must be:
Consumers
External stakeholders
Internal stakeholders
