Students are required to write a critical analysis paper that examines the group dynamics of a specific work team that they currently or previously served on within their organizations.
 
The paper should list and describe the following nine components:
 
1. Describe the nature of the organization, structure, output goals, etc.
 
2. Describe the specific group/team within the organization as to its specific organizational purpose i.e. permanent, temporary, cross-functional, project group, self-managed, employee team involvement, or a virtual group
 
3. Describe the diversity dimensions of the team
 
4. Describe the personality traits, values, and attitudes of the team members
 
5. Compare and contrast how the group members perceive themselves versus how other key people or groups perceive them
 
6. Compare/contrast your team to the stages of group development (forming, storming, norming, performing, adjourning stages)
 
7. Describe the roles and the role dynamics of the team i.e. role ambiguity, role overload, role under-load, and role conflict.
 
8. Overall, is the team a high performance team compared to the text model? What should be done to improve the overall effectiveness of the team?
 
9. Bibliography of references from the textbook and any other sources of material. (5-8 references)
