In your first paragraph, write a detailed description of the standard you have selected and why you selected it.
Then, in a paragraph each, describe how that standard has helped you in your work life, in your school life, and in your personal life. Each paragraph should contain at least one example.

Universal intellectual standards are those standards that are necessary to be applied when one is critically thinking about a particular problem, issue or a situation. It is the responsibility of the teachers to pose serious questions to the students so that they are able to develop critical thinking while dealing with the real life situation. The ultimate goal of universal intellectual standard is to undergo change occurring in the society due to human intervention. There should be clarity of thoughts while dealing with the situations occurring in one’s life. For balancing the work-life it is necessary to effectively implement the situation according to the necessity. There should be a clear understanding of the topic in order to ensure consistent growth. People need to understand the importance of balancing life by critically analyzing the situation accordingly. A clear view helps in guaranteeing a consistent growth in an individual professional and personal life. It is therefore necessary to set clear goals in life in terms of career objectives. This will ensure a consistent growth in almost every manner. Undefined goals in life hamper overall development of the individual. It therefore poses a serious threat in attaining goals (Elder & Paul, 2007).
The statement related to the work life needs to be in precision. There should be clear and specific goals. Thoughts need to be in proper accuracy with the situation and the person should be aware about his/her goals. He should know what place he wishes to attain in order to attain objectives.
The statement should be relevant considering the present and futuristic situation. A person making a vague statement about the career goals will fail in life. This is necessary for an individual to realize his or her goals being specific to the goals. Efforts are irrelevant if are inappropriate in nature. This is important to be notice that the vision of an individual should be based on his capabilities. One should only set the career goals that are in proper alignment with his capabilities. This will ensure consistent growth.
The depth related to the objective needs to be clear and in accuracy with the objective. In order to balance the work and life it is essential to remove the complexities and to encourage the healthy environment in order to attain objectives. Problems are pervasive in nature and they occur at every level of life; it is therefore recommended to focus on those strategies that help in assimilating efficiencies (Paul & Elder, 2006).
The point of view of the others needs to be considered while considering the career objective. The motive related to an object need to be clear and logical. The combination of the set should correlate with each other in order to make a proper sense. In case when the combination is not mutually supporting it will hamper the work life balance. An individual focusing on illogical goals cannot attain the objectives. It is however essential to understand the situation in order to implement the critical real life situation in life. This will not only help in balancing the life and work but will provide with an insight to attain objectives (Paul & Elder, 2014).
