1.Select an area of service or community life and start to explore participation and access issues. Examples of areas that you can choose from include; education, employment, housing and accommodation, physical access issues, communication, social media, Arts, transport, sport and recreation, health, electoral participation, disability inclusion in country development/aid strategies, or an area to be negotiated with the Learning Facilitator.
In this first week, you will commence your exploration of the area selected from the point of view of access and participation of a person with a specific disability (e.g. a physical disability, an intellectual disability, a communication disability, a vision related disability), or combination of disabilities.
This exploration will have direct bearing on the development and construction of your E-Portfolio which is the subject’s second assessment compromising 60% of the available marks
To provide your exploration with some structure use your “analytical framework” set of questions that you started to develop in Module 2 as a starting point.
In addition to informing yourself about this area and the specific issues concerning the selected disability in this context provide your exploration with some structure. This can be done with reference to consider the application of
your questions in your developing analytical framework
