In Knowledge Application Exercise 1 you put together a recreation/tourism business concept with a minimum staffing level of 20 employees, designed an organisation chart, wrote a job description for one position in the organization, and discussed the legal framework as it applied to your recreation/tourism business. Use the job description created for that exercise for Exercise 2
Part 1 Selection You have now recruited for your position and have received a large number of applicants. This section will include:
1) Your selection plan (what steps you will follow to get from a pile of applicants, to a successful hire). Make sure that it includes an interview, but feel free to include other assessment tools as appropriate.
2) Within that plan:
a. Describe what process you would use to screen the applicants that you wish to consider further (what criteria might you use).
b. Once you have screened the applicants, you are left with 6 candidates whom you will need to interview. Provide a list of interview questions that you will ask to assess the 6 candidates and an applicant rating form that you will use to score each one.
Part 2 – Orientation and Training Describe the orientation and training that you would provide for this new hire?
Part 3 – Compensation and Benefits Consider that you have now successfully hired all 20 employees required for your business venture.
1) Pick 3 different positions in your organization. For each position, describe what compensation and benefits will be provided (including any incentives or pay-for-performance) that you believe would be the most effective system for your organization.
