1. Write a report on the Hewlett-Packard Company (HP) case study (available on Moodle), minimum 1500 words.

This case study highlights how HP Norway completed one of the most successful relocation in history and, most importantly, maintained its marketplace momentum during the move. It highlights how the best practices of Enterprise Architecture can support such a critical initiative.”

2. Conduct a presentation (10-15 minutes).

Please refer to the Unit Description for the due date. The presentations will be done during the lab class.

Your report should include the following sections.

a) A statement of the Hewlett-Packard Company (HP) situation: a general description of the problem

b) A general description of the solution strategy, consisting of:

i) A strategy map from the business perspective, including:

  The Financial view



  The Customer view



  The Internal process view



 The Learning and Growth view



ii) The corresponding IT strategy map, aligning the IT drivers and objectives with the business drivers/objectives and internal process view of the map above. This must include (for IT) the drivers, the

‘Customer’ view, the ‘Internal’ view and the concrete initiatives (as presented in Slide 7 of Lecture 8).

Requirements

Your report should be professionally organized, written and presented. Sloppy reports will receive poor marks. The intention of your presentation should be to convince the management of the relevance and appropriateness of the EA project, to convince them to fund the project. During the presentation you should cover the essential points of your report, should be no longer than 15 minutes, and the emphasis should be on presenting the alignment between the business drivers and the IT initiatives.
An important point: You are not alone on this, create early drafts and keep working on it with the lecturer and the tutor until you are satisfied that you got it right
