The current operational strategy followed by the organization helps them to become one of the largest food chains in the world market.
The Vision of McDonald
The main vision of McDonald is to become one of the largest food provider in the entire globe.
Current Operations and Business Strategy
As McDonald is one of the leading form of Food Provider Company hence they focus on some form of business strategies, which would enhance the business of the organization and also provide high level of satisfaction to the customers. According to the article discussed by McDonald and Wilson (2016) the main form of strategy by McDonald is to help in making food to be available in a quick manner at a lower competitive price. They also aim for making profit within the world market and thus expand their growth of business in the world market
The strategies based on the current market conditions within McDonald help in managing the various kinds of operations within the organisation. The current operations within McDonald are primarily based on some form of strategies within each of the branches of McDonald. The strategy adopted at McDonald mainly focus on emphasizing the importance of the customer and maintain the level of satisfaction.
The current operations at McDonald is based on the use of information technology (IT) systems within the organization. Information systems play a major form of role for designing latest forms of products and services based on several kinds of innovations that are been put together. They are vastly meant for improving the level of efficiency within the sector. With the rise of intelligent and smart forms of technological advancements, the company has been forced to employ such kinds of methods within their daily operations (Grant 2016). This has been widely been useful for maintaining the customer base and thus enhance the productivity and growth of the business.
The use of IT based technological systems within McDonald have hugely helped for improving the transactional processes within the organization. IT systems have majorly transformed in the business models within the sector, which could affect the business of McDonald. They help in targeting the customers and thus be able to understand the statistical data that is performed within the organisation. The impact of IT based systems within McDonald have tremendously helped for improving the operational activities within the business. The company has implemented a control database system, which helps in unnecessary ordering of food, keeping the update of the food in the stocks and many other features. The stock rooms are fully connected to the Point of Sale (PoS) systems. With the aid of IT systems, it has been effective for saving of a considerable amount of item and also allows the manager for knowing the details of an order and the future perspectives (Hess et al. 2016). McDonald have adopted such form of strategy, which have helped in the changing of their operations within the retail sector in some of their underlying areas:
Management of Quality – McDonald mainly focus on bringing efficiency on the quality of their products. Maintaining a high quality level would ensure customer satisfaction and thus bring higher demands of their products. The production line within McDonald maximizes the efficiency and focuses on utilization of capacity. McDonald makes a wide form of use of the resources of the organization in order to serve their customers with several kinds of high quality products, which would be helpful for satisfying the customers. The control over the quality of the offered food is mainly being maintained by the field consultants within the company. These consultants help in the proper form of inspection of the restaurants and would then provide a report to the top level of management based on different discussed aspects (Jacobs, Chase and Lummus 2014).
Location Strategy – McDonald mainly targets such kind of areas in order to establish stores based on the popularity of the venue. This would also be helpful for reaching out to a broad community of customers. Deciding the location of opening up of a particular store is a major kind of responsibility of the management. Choosing of the location is an important operational functionality (Takaki and Matsubayashi 2013). Different kinds of factors are being widely focused based on choosing of the location such as the number of residing customers, types of environment such as residential homes or work sectors.
Service Process Design – McDonald possesses a huge customer base and they help in serving billions of customers on a daily basis. As the company has a high form of investment within their various processes, hence they have a huge form of advantage for improving and updating the technologies of the inbuilt systems. The valuable reviews of the customers help the organisation for improving their systems and processes (Collett Miles 2013).
Process Selection – The selection of processes within McDonald initiates with the flow of products. The food products offered by McDonald are stocked and are pre-cooked. These are made to be available to the customers as per the demand. The McDonald systems follows a Make to Order or Assemble to Order form of model. The process cycle of MTO help in the process of production. These are primarily meant for receiving the various orders from the customers and designing the products (Singh, Khan and Grover 2013). The operation within McDonald are extremely fast and highly efficient, which help in gaining higher rates of return based on investments.
Inventory Management – McDonald follows a Just-in-Time (JIT) form of inventory operation management. The inventory management systems within McDonald cooks the food only upon receiving an order. This process performed by the inventory management helps in the prevention of extra food getting used and also cuts the various costs. The huge form of benefits based on the operation performed by McDonald would be helpful improving the conditions of food and maintain lower costs (Aggarwal and Kumar 2013). They also focus on improving the customer service. The management of the inventory would be helpful for ordering of food without any form of service delivery.
Based on the discussion from the above report, it could be concluded that the business operations of the organization should be properly reviewed. McDonald is a highly reputable company based on providing food based services. The business of McDonald is mainly based on the extensive forms of research of the market strategies and current form of operations. In the past years, McDonald have conducted a wide form of research on their customers and have hence deeply focused on the quality of food and maintaining a good relationship with the customers. The company also mainly focuses on positioning of the business and improvement of the existing systems. The report discusses about the various kinds of daily operations that are performed within the organization and thus emphasizes on the profit factors of the organizational sector.
With the help of the conclusions drawn from the above discussion, it could be concluded that the use of Information Technology systems within McDonald would be a benefiting factor. According to Mosley (2013) the use of IT has largely benefited other organizations as they have implemented smart based business processes. Hence they have been highly helped for using the benefits that have offered by IT systems. IT based systems have proved to be a major factor for improvement of the various accounting processes within the organization. IT systems have helped in the determining of the most important kinds of models, which could affect the business of McDonald. They help in targeting the customers and thus be able to understand the statistical data that is performed within McDonald (Lee, Thomas and Baskerville 2015). This data that is produced by IT systems would be helpful for understanding the factors that are lacking within the company. Hence McDonald would get huge form of help based on improving the IT based strategies and thus satisfy the customer requirements.
