Task:
1) To apply concepts from class to analyze a variety of real-world examples from an anthropological perspective, and
2) to build a creative theme around which you structure an original essay.
Directions:
Select three real-world examples from media, politics, popular culture, literature, work, etc. and critically analyze them in relation to course material. You need to organize your three examples around a theme of your choosing. You will describe each example in detail, then analyze it from an anthropological perspective. The persuasiveness of your explanation is important. Feel free to be creative, but within the bounds of what you can relate to the material you have learned in class and from the readings. Successful essays need to have the following: a unifying theme, a clear introduction and thesis statement, developed and organized examples in the main text, and a well-formed conclusion.

Note: while you may choose examples related to gender, please do not use this as an organizing theme for the entire paper since you have just done this for your Observation
Paper.

References: While this is not a traditional research paper, you may use outside sources if appropriate. You are not required to do outside reading for this paper. Please ask if you have any questions about this.
