For the topic 2 that I chose below, I choose Beyonce’s music and the song that I picked from her playlist is Formation and Run The World for this analysist paper assignment. You can pick other songs of her as well but need to be the same genre.
Topic 2:
Consider the type of music you listen to and how you listen to that music.
1. Go through the lyrics of two or three of your favourite songs.  What do the lyrics say about relationships of any kind?  How does the artist use lyrics to affect how the listener feels about the situation in the song?
 
2. How are issues like gender, race, and/or society’s values dealt with in the song?  Of the songs you have selected, do they try to present any type of message to the listener?  Is this message effective? Why/Why not?
 
3. Describe how you use music in your life. When is music part of your day? Do you work with music in the background? How do relationships with friends affect how/when you listen to music? Is there music you pick when alone versus music you share with others? Does any music carry special memories for you?
Requirements:

Must be in a clear font (Times New Roman 12 pitch is great), double-spaced, and 4-5 pages in length (1200-1500 words). Providing notes or song lyrics is extra (doesn’t count in length)
Use textbook as a reference for concepts.  Don’t use terms without explaining them!
