You work for a PR agency. One of your clients is a UK-based travel company called Bryson Travel that specialises in package holidays in Europe and North America. Following the disruption to international travel caused by the Covid pandemic, and in order to respond to changing consumer demands, Bryson Travel is launching a new arm of the company, called RuralBliss, which will offer rural stays in the UK with a focus on relaxation and nature. The company is hoping to tap into the staycation market and growing consumer interest in holidays in peaceful, rural locations that allow holidaymakers to connect with nature and derive all of the benefits that being outdoors and active can offer. The company will offer packages that include self-catering accommodation as well as B&B accommodation, in Scotland, England and Wales from April 2022. A range of accommodation types will be available including cottages, traditional B&Bs, log cabins, and glamping and, depending on location, a range of activity types (horseriding, hiking, cycling, paddleboarding etc). Thecompany is also planning to launch in Northern Ireland in July 2022 (packages will include ferry crossings). Locations, accommodation and activities are handpicked by specialists in rural tourism who know the areas well.

Bryson Travel has tasked your agency with a marketing campaign for RuralBliss and your manager has asked you to produce two texts:

(1) a sales letter: write a sales letter to be sent as part of a direct mailshot promoting RuralBliss and all that it offers. The letter will accompany a brochure detailing all the locations and packages on offer. Length of text: 600 words (+/- 10%).

(2) a press release: please write a press release announcing the launch of RuralBliss. The press release will be published on the Bryson Travel website and will also be sent to relevant newspapers, travel industry publications, and travel organisations across the UK. Length of text: 500 words (+/- 10%).
