Purpose:
The ‘Rhyme & Reason Music Festival’ is an all-day, all ages, not-for-profit music festival.
The R&RMF will be the first charity festival in in the world with a bill of acts that includes several holographic performers.
In addition, the line-up will consist of local and international artists, as well as a selection of performances by participants of the programs involved.
The festival will be co-presented by Sony Music Australia, Australia Council for the Arts & Cultural Infusion Foundation as part of a strategy to secure our primary sponsors and partners:
Sony A&R Academy, Sony Foundation Australia, City of Melbourne, Arts Victoria, Victorian Department of Health and Human Services, School of living Music, Cultural Infusion Foundation, Next Wave, YMCA, Victorian Skateboarding Association, Syn Media, Youth Central, and UNLtd.
Each one has been strategically chosen and integrated somehow into the design of the event so as to reinforce their incentives, and utilise their endeavours as resources, making their support and involvement mutually beneficial for the event, them, and/or their associated philanthropic initiatives.
The idea is to create fanciful world of intriguing, magical, impossible and beautiful things to discover and experience. The venue will be laid out so that it tunnels all patrons through each section before they reach the main stage. The event will encompass exhibitions, entertainment, games and competitions, information about the charities, a vert ramp with skate demos, food and beverage stalls as well as merch vendors for sponsors and for program participants to sell their artwork etc.
The Purpose of the event is to:
1) raise funds to support the stakeholder’s initiatives: The Living Music Program, JUMP (Juvenile Mentoring Program), and MMAD (Musicians Making a Difference),
2) provide an exposure platform for program participants
3) provide work, experience and education of a professional standard
4) create awareness for the initiatives, their purposes/missions and their achievements, as well as awareness of the issues that gave reason for these programs to have been established.
This makes the event itself a contributor to the collective goal of all primary stakeholders by providing opportunities, work experience, education, self-worth and purpose though the arts, to troubled youth in the community
