Formative assessment task
The purpose of this task is to begin to prepare you for the summative assignment at the end of the module. What you write for this will support you fully in the summative assignment and will hopefully give you some assurances that your written work is at an appropriate Masters level and your written conventions adhere to the standards of Higher Education.
The formative work will ultimately fit within the final assignment. All guidance on the assignment is included below; the highlighted aspects refer to the formative.
The final summative assignment is a response to the following statement: In the light of their earlier critical reflection on their practice, participants should discuss the implications for their developing professional practice in the context of current professional standards (in the case of Scotland, the Standards as provided by the GTCS) and current views of professionalism, based on relevant literature, leading to a programme of professional development presented in the form of an action plan. (5000 words)
For the purposes of this formative task, you will focus on two highlighted elements of this,
1.
a. Your understanding of professionalism (no more than 1000 words)
OR
b. Your understanding of reflection (no more than 1000 words)
AND
2. Your action plan (in table form)

These may not be met fully but may help you see where they sit in the bigger picture of the final assignment. Guidance is provided for each criterion in turn.
