Introduction

Despite the ongoing recommendations from top nursing and healthcare organizations that propose a bachelor’s degree level as the best entry to nursing practice, an estimated 60% of RNs still enter practice with an ADN (Anbari, 2015). According to AACN, an RN-BSN program prepares nurses for a broad scope of practice by focusing on three main aspects. First, it strengthens nurses’ analytical skills and clinical reasoning for quality care. Secondly, it promotes professional development to improve nurses’ understanding of the essence of maintaining competency and being up-to-date with healthcare trends (Linton et al., 2019). Therefore, a significant factor that inspires healthcare organizations to hire BSN prepared nurses is that they are linked to improved outcomes. Leadership Roles on Multidisciplinary Teams within Health Care Organizations

Nurses have an integral role in the interdisciplinary team approach to care. In my clinical practice, I had the opportunity collaborate with renal physicians, dieticians, pharmacists and social workers to care for renal transplant patients to their full recovery. I was responsible for making care plans, administering medications, and evaluating the progress of renal transplant patients.
