It also identifies the steps taken to identify, reflect upon and address the problem you consulted for your client. Notice that this part provide a context and is not the focus of the PPD report. The focus of the report is your interaction and work within the team and with the client. 3. Reflect on your experience, when working with the team and the client. Think about what you could improve, what went well, and what changes did you and/or your team faced during the consultancy project. These could be related to your team dynamic, client, and any stakeholder that’s involved in the process. 4. Indicates how relevant literature informed your understanding and the process. That is you want to use the literature to support decision and understanding of the issues related to working with your client and the dynamic of teamwork. For example, you might decide to consult literature related to disengagement of team members, or, literature related to intercultural differences because you experienced a challenge when working with a client that is operating within a different context and culture. 5. Provides the concluding remarks drawn from the process. 6. Addresses a plan for action and for being a change agent in your future professional practice 7. Most importantly: you want to provide both a narrative of the whole project and the iterative process of engaging with the identified problem, your client, and your team members. Assessment To achieve a minimum pass on this report, you must provide an acceptable discussion of the background and aims about the identified problem for your client, your personal reflection and experience during the project, relevant literature, steps taken to address any problem (client and your team), results and conclusion. In brief, to achieve a pass, it is imperative that you demonstrate full engagement with your consultancy project, team, and client. Some suggestion to include: Introduction. This should briefly outline the aims of the report. Sufficient background information you provide should enable the reader to understand the nature of the report including the consultancy project and team/client dynamic. Steps taken to address the problem. This should focus strongly on the contribution made by you to your team, and the contribution of the team, to your thinking and action/engagement with the problem. but then again, this isn’t the focal point of the report but a chance to explain the context. Critical Review of the Literature. This should provide a critical evaluation of the key pieces of literature which are relevant to your action and decisions when working with the team members and with the client, and understanding of the issues related to working with your client and the dynamic of teamwork. Reflection on your experience and Looking Forward: This is your chance to reflect upon your interactions with your team and client and how you can improve your work in the future, based on this experience. Note any actions you want to take to prepare for your career. So, crucially, you need to consider the connection between what you learn and change for yourself and how you help others learn and change. You need to take responsibility for both processes and as a consultant. As scholarly practitioners, you want to show an ability to understand your thinking and how this affects what you do (This skill is often referred to as metacognition).
