In a group of no more than five people, you will act as consultants and work with a client in order to analyse their innovation strategy and business model and conduct research which will enable you to make suggestions on how they can innovate their business model to improve their competitive advantage for societal benefit.

Background To Groundwork
Groundwork was established in 1981 as a radical experiment to bring together communities, businesses and government in a joint effort to improve the quality of life and promote sustainable development in places that had become run down and neglected.
Groundwork is a federation of charities mobalising practical community action on poverty and the environment across the UK. They are passionate about creating a future where every neighbourhood is vibrant and green, where every community is strong and able to shape their own destiny and no-one is held back by their background or circumstances.
Groundwork Northern Ireland (NI)
Groundwork NI is a charity that was established in 1991. We are passionate about creating a future where every neighbourhood is vibrant and green, every community is strong and able to shape its own destiny and no-one is held back by their background or circumstances.
We help people gain skills, get into training and work; we work with communities to protect and improve green spaces; lead more active lives and overcome significant challenges such as poverty, isolation, low skills and poor health. We have distributed over £6 million in grants to community projects; provided nearly 100 beacons for community celebrations; supported 65 Men’s Sheds across NI and transformed 4 spaces into Meanwhile Gardens.
Your assignment must include the following sections
(I) Introduction And Overview Of Case Study Organisation (10%): What is the remit of the project? Give a brief overview of who the case study organisation are. What is their current innovation strategy?
(II) Business Landscape/Situational Analysis (20%): Provide an analysis of the current landscape your chosen organisation currently operates within. Draw upon facts/statistics which help understand the sector they operate within, who are the competitors (what are they features, benefits compared to your chosen organisation), what are the opportunities and threats in the environment which may lead to their need to innovate? What sector trends are there which may identify the opportunity to implement your chosen organisation in certain sectors? Are there any social/ consumer behaviour trends relevant to the business?
Please note that this section is not a full strategic analysis therefore a full PESTEL is not required but you should identify threats and opportunities within the external environment.
