Reflection Report on Mentoring Experience: As an addition to the student’s log book reflections, students will compose a 1250 word academic report that reflects upon the mentoring relationship they have experienced throughout the course of their professional placement. In doing so, students are expected to integrate their reflections upon the purpose and nature of mentoring relationships within the industry context with a critical engagement with course concepts, readings and other relevant academic sources (interaction with at least 5-7 academic sources is expected). Throughout the report, in line with that already stated, students should at some point address the following considerations: Ethical parameters and responsibilities in a mentoring relationship for both parties; the strengths and weaknesses of mentoring relationships; the effectiveness of their own mentoring experience (and how one might measure this). Resources for assessment tasks; To complete the assessment tasks, students will be required to read widely on the topic investigated. To assist this research, a list of representative references is included at the end of this course handout. The use of journal articles by students is encouraged.
