As individuals age, they are faced with age-related changes that affect their lifestyle. These changes are in the form of cognitive, physical and income declines. There is a correlation between completion of cognitive tasks and age. In fact, persons of advanced age will typically underperform their younger counterparts in recall and memory tasks. The performance difference is blamed in cognitive decline, except for habitual and instinctive tasks that are conducted subconsciously and do not engage recall or memory. As such, cognitively decline makes it difficult for elderly persons to complete tasks adequately and competently, thus affecting their lifestyle. This is addressed by implementing a reminder system (such as notes and alarms) that simplifies recall and memory (Dhami, Schlottmann & Waldmann, 2012).
