Scenario:
You are an Executive Assistant to the CEO of a (Norwegian or American) retail store wanting to open their business in a new country. The CEO is preparing to meet with the mayor of the city where you want to buy land for your first retail store in this new country.
 
The land at the site you want to buy belongs to the city and the mayor has the authority to grant or decline your application or bring it to a vote at the city council. Your job is to prepare the CEO for the first meeting and subsequent negotiation with the mayor and city council in this country.
 
Task:
After conducting research, you should write a text with two parts:
 
1. Country report:- Prepare a country report on the culture and communication norms in this country to help your CEO be prepared for the customs and expectations for the meeting, using Hofstede, Trompenaar, the globe project, and other sources (interviews, academic publications, etc.). Minimum 2 pages and five sources.
 
2. Negotiation strategy:-  Prepare a negotiation strategy for the CEO and negotiation team based on recommendations by Latz, Deresky, and additional researchthat are suited to this particular country. You know that the mayor will want to get as high a price for the land as he or she can, but they are also eager to grow their local economy and like the jobs your company could provide.
 
The current estimate for the land that the city has suggested is 20% above your company’s estimates of its value. Minimum 2 pages and 3 sources.
