This case focuses on the issues involved when changing the structure of an organization to meet important changes in the environment. Areas of relevance include fit between structure, design and strategic objectives; relationship between design and culture; moving organizational design from a traditional structure to a less familiar, less well-defined structure. Read the case and consider the following questions: What are the key problems facing iQmetrix at the time of the case? Will holocracy solve the problems facing them? Why or why not? If holocracy can solve iQmetrix’s problems, can it be made to fit with the current organizational culture? If iQmetrix decides to go ahead, does it make sense to pilot holocracy first, or roll it out to the whole organization?
